FORMER PARISH PRIESTS
Late Fr. Agnelo Gomes
Priest-in-charge
Fr. Agnelo Gomes who hailed from Karwar was appointed as the First Priest-in-charge of the Wakad Mass Centre in November 2010. He was entitled with the mammoth task of building the church for our community. He was a very simple and down to earth human being was particularly passionate about seeing this project through and had put in a lot of effort in raising funds for the building and following up on the progress of the construction. He lived a life dedicated to faith, service, and compassion. He answered the call to priesthood with unwavering devotion and he guided us on our spiritual journeys. His ministry was not just a job but a calling, a vocation that he embraced with humility and grace. We are able to come together as a community today in this house of God to worship the Lord due to the relentless efforts put in by Fr. Agnelo over the years from 2010 to 2019. On 7th April 2019 Fr. Agnelo suffered a sudden cardiac arrest shortly after he gave his family a tour of the church which was under construction.
